Here in eastern NC we had a pretty intense snow storm in February of 2026. I was literally snowed in as the drifts had made it nearly impossible to open my front door. There were concerns about losing power, and for some cities in North Carolina that happened. Roads were unsafe for crews to assist those in need. I was lucky enough to not lose power.

I love the snow. When I lived in SLC, UT; the snows would often begin in October, and some times fall until March or April. Snow is a noise canceling blanket. It allows me to dress in the coziest of clothes and feel snug. Something very secure about that. I miss those months in SLC. I’m looking forward to the Pacific Northwest as I plan my exodus to the region in the coming years.
