I agonized, severely on the perfect moment to launch this site. I wanted to add a shop for merch first, which should be going live in the next couple of weeks. I wanted to make sure there was a little content available. And no matter what I added, thought to add, deleted, etc… it just sat here.

A very close friend of mine and I talk about production, and creative processes. How we tend to have great ideas but never act on them for whatever justifications we can think of; not enough participants, the wrong gear, etc. However he goes out and does what he wants, when he wants. He told me about this book he purchased many years ago called Shut Up and Shoot. And it is exactly what it sounds like, a motivational tool to tell you to stop making excuses and shoot something. No matter if you can’t shoot a zombie scene because two zombies isn’t enough zombies. Get out there and shoot something so you’re constantly practicing your vision, storyboarding, camera skills and more.

If we don’t practice, even on what we might consider pointless, we forget how to do the things we love to do. And when the dream project comes to fruition, we’re left stumbling trying to remember how to focus (pun) on things that are vital to making sure the dream comes true. That is to say if we don’t workout the creative muscles they will atrophy and our ideas fall by the wayside. Then we will find others stumbling upon versions of our ideas, creating them, and leaving us wishing we had created them ourselves. Ultimately leading us down a path to depressive states and dissatisfied lives.

So, here we are, launching this site, for the collective creation of feeling accomplished.
